So you've spent hours on your acrylic painting, you've tweaked the values, you've looked at it, you've tweaked it some more & now you have decided it's finished.
So what next?
It's time to apply a finishing coat to protect & preseve you're painting for posterity.
In my new Youtube ArtStart Mixed Media Art Class,
'Let's Finish An Acrylic Painting'(click on the photo below to go straight to that free class), I use the 2 most commonly used acrylic mediums, to take you step by step through completing your acrylic painting, whether its on paper, wood or canvas.
I've also included some of the other methods for finishing an acrylic, mixed media or watercolour work on paper.
Now if you're not sure if you've finished your painting or not, don't worry, applying a layer of medium will not effect your next layer in your acrylic painting.
In fact, it will provide a layer of protection for the work that you have already done, so you can try something new & if you don't like it, while its still wet, it will simply wipe away with a baby wipe or towel, revealing that preserved layer underneath.
In an upcoming video, I will explain my methods that I use to assess a completed painting.
